During the first week of January, I flew to the deep and dirty south for the wedding of my bestie, Hannah Shirley. Now let me tell you, I have been hearing about how great that place is for going on 4 years now from Hannah, Lauren and Meag, but I was not expecting it to live up to the hype. However now, after having actually visited and experienced Raising Kane's, Cafe du Monde, Hudson's and the bayous of New Orleans (kind of...), I am now officially in love with the south. Hence, I would like to dedicate this blog post to all of you crazy southerners who admitted that you have blog-stalked me (and also to those of you who didn't admit it but probably have done it anyway). Trust me, I am going to return the favor :)
I have never felt so close with a giant group of people that I had known for really only a few hours. It was incredible! The phrase 'Southern Hospitality' actually means something to me now! Thank you so much. Y'all have a special place in my heart. And sorry to be so corny, but you people have it coming. If only you had more nephews... That is my single complaint.
And Hannah. Shoot you looked AWESOME. I am so glad I was able to be there for your wedding! You and Dalaney are so perfect for each other. I couldn't help thinking that the entire weekend. I am so happy for you two. And I'm coming over to get my Cafe Rio soon... you have been warned. Although now that I think about it you are definitely going to get a warning text prior. I wouldn't want to interrupt...things.
Fast forward to January 28, my BIRTHDAY. This year I had a blacklight dance party (man, colored text is funnn). I don't know about everyone who came, but I thought it was awesome! Not to mention the cake. So thanks errabody who came and brought some, brought glowsticks (I have your $$$, Crystal), figurine dinosaurs, etc! You people rock!
Today: I have decided to add canyoneering to my list of things that I want to become proficient in very very soon. I have been ridiculously intrigued by it for several years now, and I just decided to actually go ahead and learn how to do it. Yes that is right. I, Dani Richards, am going to descend into the depths of a canyon with water, a rope, a harnass, a map, an attractive man (I will be recruiting very soon) and some makeup (not a joke) and make it out alive! I can't wait!
In other news, both Rachelle and Audrey have mono... And I don't know if it is because I have a tendency to be a tad bit hypochondriachal, but my throat is hurting a little bit. Eek. Ha but that would be fun to tell people. Think about it. We'll see how my immune system feels though. I shall keep you all posted. Ciao!
